Money

Money from Tanzania

The currency in Tanzania is Tanzanian Shillings. In all cities you will find a Bureau de Change. Here you can change Euros, Pounds or Dollars.

When you bring Dollars to Tanzania please know that Dollars which are printed before 2006 will not be accepted. You will find the date of printing on the bottom of every note.

You will also find in the cities international banc automat (ATM). You can use the normal credit cards, but please note that sometimes there is no electricity.

Your Safari guide, your safari cook, and the porters earn only very little money. So they need your tip.

Every person should give 10 -12 USD per day of traveling to every person who is with you. If you are really content you are free to give more.
